The Kozelshchyna Community in Poltava Oblast is continuing to develop a Local Waste Management Plan (LWMP) through 2035, which will serve as the foundation for the development of a waste management system within the community.

The plan will help the community systematically organize waste collection, transportation, and processing, as well as implement modern approaches to waste management.

A working group has already been established in the community to prepare proposals for the draft plan and coordinate decisions regarding its development; this group also includes experts from our programme.

Together with the community, we invite everyone interested to participate in shaping the future plan and submit their proposals by June 30, 2026. Involving various stakeholders in the preparation of the Waste Management Plan will help address local needs and develop effective solutions for the development of the waste management system.

Details are available on the community’s website: https://kozelshchynska-gromada.gov.ua/news/1779779604/

Work on the plan will take place within the Swedish–Ukrainian WM4U Programme, which aims to support the development of modern, systemic, and environmentally responsible waste management solutions at local, regional and national levels. The programme is funded by the Government of Sweden through Sida and led by Avfall Sverige and SALAR International.
