SALAR International is looking for a Gender Expert to support the Polaris Programme: Supporting Multilevel Governance in Ukraine, with limited contributions to the WM4U – Strengthening Municipal Waste Management in Ukraine programme.
Main responsibilities
- Support the implementation of the programme’s Gender Action Plan.
- Integrate gender equality and social inclusion into programme activities, policies and local planning.
- Provide technical advice to programme teams and local authorities.
- Conduct gender analysis, prepare reports and policy recommendations.
- Organise trainings and capacity-building activities for municipalities.
- Contribute to monitoring and reporting on gender equality results.
Requirements
- University degree in a relevant field.
- At least 3 years of experience in gender equality, social inclusion or human rights.
- Experience working with local governments, strategic planning or development programmes.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Fluency in Ukrainian and basic English.
Conditions
- Consultant contract (not employment).
- Full-time (100%) for 10 months, with the possibility of extension.
- Based in Kyiv with regular presence in the office and traveling within Ukraine.
- Competitive consultancy fee.
