In the Vinnytsia region, the draft Regional Waste Management Plan (RWMP) up to 2035 and the report on its strategic environmental assessment have been published. The documents are currently undergoing public consultation and will set out the main directions for the development of the waste management system in the region.

The aim of the RWM Plan is to ensure effective and sustainable waste management in the Vinnytsia region in accordance with the principles of sustainable development. The plan sets out interlinked objectives and measures for the development of the waste management system, formulated on the basis of an assessment of its current state and taking into account cooperation between executive authorities and local self-government bodies.

The implementation of the Regional Waste Management Plan will contribute to the adoption of European approaches, the development of modern waste management infrastructure and the improvement of the environmental situation in the region.

The regional plan was developed with the support of WM4U programme.

The Strategic Environmental Assessment enables the potential impact of the proposed solutions on the environment and public health to be analysed at the planning stage. The public consultation will run until 5 September 2026 inclusive. Comments and suggestions regarding the SEA report may be submitted in writing or electronically. The draft Regional Waste Management Plan can be viewed in the Unified Register of Strategic Environmental Assessments, as well as on the website of the Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration.
