Guidelines and training

The component aims to improve knowledge on waste management (planning) at local, intermunicipal, and regional levels in Ukraine, addressing the current lack of updated guidelines aligned with EU waste directives. It seeks to provide guidelines and tools as part of a wider capacity-strengthening approach, focusing on best practices and recommendations.

Actions and expected result

Key activities include a Training Needs Assessment (TNA) as basis for building a systematic approach to extending knowledge on municipal waste management, covering aspects such as current conditions, waste composition, targets, organisational structures, funding mechanisms, and systems for waste collection, transportation, recovery, and disposal.
