The Vinnytsia cluster’s household waste management system already serves over 700,000 people. At the same time, development is hampered by uneven service coverage, overloaded landfill sites, outdated infrastructure and insufficient funding. Despite this, the cluster has a solid foundation for change: active communities, initial successful practices in separate waste collection, a new municipal waste management centre and significant potential for inter-municipal cooperation.
The WM4U brief highlights the main challenges and proposes practical solutions for establishing a modern waste management system in line with European standards.
